Stephanie Ayala uses photography as her main medium. Her work ranges from showing the everyday life of her community in Washington Heights, the Bronx to exploring more intimacy, textures, and symbols found in everyday life. Using her camera as a tool for her has always been a spiritual experience of capturing light through mirrors of reflections around her.
She wishes to explore more 3D design and filmmaking throughout the years. In order to combine her appreciation of magical realism, experimental music, and nature and continue to showcase everyday life but through the patterns she has found. As well as exploring the boundaries in which photographs/films are viewed in spaces.
She has also been granted Bronx Council on the Arts 2022 BRIO and NYFA City Corps Grant 2021.
