Christine DeFazio

Christine DeFazio is an art educator and artist working in the Bronx focusing on Urban Arts. She has degrees in Art History and was the Director of Michael Hall Fine Arts, where she wrote several catalogs on 19th Century and Renaissance Sculpture. She is a licensed appraiser and has worked with Sotheby's. She has extensively researched the Street Art of the Bronx focusing on Tats Cru. She created curriculum for The Met’s Astor Fellowship and Lincoln Center’s Arts in the Middle. She has degrees in Art History from StonyBrook and Hunter. She was assistant to the editor of Donald Kuspit’s Art Criticism and has worked at the New Museum and Franklin Furnace. She is the secretary for Creative Bergen and has organized several events and shows. She has exhibited her own art extensively in New York, and painted murals in Harlem, NJ and the Bronx. She has recently curated an exhibition of street art, graffiti and pop art at Stable Gallery, ANNA! And Duster a collaborative exhibition at IW Gallery, and will curate a show featuring Andre Trenier and LadyKFever in 2024. A collection of her work, including paintings, digital and analog collages, is on view at SVA.
