What is a collage? A collage is an artistic composition made of various materials; an art form that uses painted paper, fabrics, newspaper clippings, and other materials that are glued to a surface. For this workshop, we will explore different kinds of collage making such as paper collage taken from the French term meaning “paste paper” a collaging technique in which printed or decorated paper is applied to a surface such as canvas, to create a new image Decoupage-meaning to cut out- involves the arrangement and pasting of colored paper cutouts. The image is then sealed with varnish.
