Ruth Marshall received her BFA in sculpture and printmaking, 1988-1991, from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia, where she was born and raised. After her MFA majoring in sculpture at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, 1993-1995, she worked as an exhibit sculptor at the Bronx Zoo, 1995-2009. Apart from being an adjunct professor teaching drawing in the animation department at School of Visual Arts New York City, she pursues her art career. My art is related to and bound by a fascination with animals and fauna. The twenty-first century is gripped by the predicament of habitat loss and species decline. There is an urgent desire in me to say new things about this disappearing world and to contribute to the efforts to help wild animals and wild places endure. For more information please visit
