JD/dansfolk is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and plans to put on a large-scale showcase of milestone moments in its history. Since inception, the company has presented choreography which tackles power social issues, such as race relations, gender identity, family relationships, mortality, and spirituality, to name a few. The proposed performance will highlight some of the company's strongest works, interwoven together in a performance which also includes video clips of past performances, testimonials from former dancers and audience members, and guest appearances. The company's unique role in the ever-evolving Bronx dance scene and its relationship to BAAD! will be a primary focus.
