Bomba Rebelde will offer Afro Puerto Rican Bomba classes to bring together the public to strengthenand reestablish social networks through this artistic expression. I will be the project manager, dance andpercussion instructor for the Bomba workshops. A graphic artist will create a visually appealing flyeranda videographer/ photographer will record classes for documentation. For the culminating event,BombaYo community ensemble will provide a fuller bomba experience for workshop participants andguests. Classes will be held at the Andrew Freedman Home. The program is a 15 week class series, 14classes plus a culminating ceremony. Bomba Dance classes will be offered on Mondays, 6:30pm-8pm,Bomba Drum Class will be held on Wednesdays, 6:30pm-8pm, from the week of March 7 to June 18,with a culminating celebration the following week. Class structure: introductions/welcoming, review,topical dialogue, instruction, and closing reflection.
