BronxArtSpace (BAS) invites applicants with a strong affiliation with the Bronx to submit proposals for a thematic group exhibition to be presented at BAS. The exhibition will be on view April - May, 2023. Applicants should be from our currently live or work in The Bronx.
BAS encourages applications that contribute to the gallery's commitment to diversity. Proposals will be judged on merit and adherence to guidelines. Half of the exhibiting artists in the proposal should be affiliated with The Bronx. Curators may not include their own work in the exhibition. Extra consideration will be given to those in the beginning stages of their curatorial careers. Curators will receive a $500 honorarium and a budget of $1,000 to split between the artists. BAS will cover costs of postcards and vinyls, and provide an installer for two days.
Applications can be emailed to sabine@bronxartspace.com with the subject line "Emerging Bronx Voices" and must include a Dropbox link to your curatorial proposal, checklist, up to 15 work samples and applicant's CV.
