Artist: Juanita Lanzo is an artist and educator who currently works in the Bronx and lives in East Harlem. Her artworks are organic abstractions that are evocative of life cycles: birth, growth, decay, and death. Her artworks have been included in various group exhibitions that have focused on feminism, Caribbean identity and African Diaspora, body politics, post colonialism and racism, WallWorks NYC, Bronx Art Space, Hell Gate Arts, and Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos, in the Bronx, Aljira Center for Contemporary Art, Newark New Jersey, Taller Boricua, Clemente Soto Velez's Cultural Center, in NYC, and University of Puerto Rico Galeria Oller, Museo de Arte e Historia, Ateneo Puertorriqueño, San Juan PR. She graduated from City College in NY (MFA 2004) and from University of Puerto Rico (BFA 1996).

In 2005 she joined the Bronx Council on the Arts as Program Coordinator for Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos and became Gallery Director & Curator in 2008, organizing over 30 exhibitions with guest curators and hundreds of visual local and international artists.
