Richie Narvaez

Born and raised in Brooklyn of Puerto Rican parents (from Corozal and Ponce), Richie Narvaez has embraced the Bronx as his home. He is the author of the award-winning collection Roachkiller and Other Stories and the gentrification thriller Hipster Death Rattle. His most recent novel is the historical YA mystery Holly Hernandez and the Death of Disco (Piñata Books, May 2020), and his latest book is the anthology Noiryorican (Down and Out Books, November 2020).

Narvaez received his master’s degree from SUNY at Stony Brook and attended the Humber School for Writers on a scholarship.

He worked in publishing, marketing, and advertising. He also taught for many years at the high school and college levels and has run workshops and reading groups for Mystery Writers of America University, the Morris Park Library, and the Center for Fiction. He currently teaches at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
