The People's Bus is an intergenerational, community-led public arts initiative that is transforming a retired prison bus into a mobile community center.
In collaboration with the NYC Civic Engagement Commission, The People's Bus is hosting a 2-week festival that will be visiting neighborhoods hardest hit by COVID in all 5 boroughs.
We invite local artists, performers, and community organizations to join The People's Festival!
Apply for one or more of the following:
- Host activities (workshops, teach-ins, art making, etc)
- Table (distribute information and resources)
- Perform (live music, theatre, spoken word, etc).
Our run of show is generally from 10am - 7pm (with some exceptions).
All participants contributing their gifts and talents to our celebration of arts and culture will receive compensation for their time! We provide a range of compensation based on activity type and duration. Ranges are below:
Tabling: Half day $125-175; Full day $250-350
DJ: Full day $750
Live Performance: Hourly rate $75-100
Activity (Workshop, artmaking, movement etc): Hourly rate $200-$300
