Open Reading Period to Publish for Poets from The Song Cave

The Song Cave is currently accepting submissions during its annual open reading period. Full-length manuscripts of poetry and poetry in translation will be considered, and both unpublished and published authors are eligible to submit. Submit your best work to The Song Cave via Submittable, including your cover letter, a title for the work, and a PDF of the manuscript. Free to apply; deadline is Saturday, August 15, 2020.

Rough Song by Blanca Varela, translated by Carlos Lara

Selected manuscripts from the current open reading period will be announced November 2020 for publication in 2021. Simultaneous submissions are acceptable. Multiple submissions are welcome; please submit each manuscript separately. Please notify The Song Cave if your manuscript is accepted elsewhere. No revisions will be considered during the reading period once a manuscript has been submitted.

The Song Cave strongly encourages submissions from people of all abilities, ages, ethnicities, genders, national origins or ancestries, socioeconomic statuses, races, formerly incarcerated statuses, religions, and sexualities.

The Song Cave, founded in 2009, is dedicated to recovering a lost sensibility and creating a new one by publishing books of poetry, translations, art criticism, and making art prints and other related materials. The Song Cave currently publishes 5–7 books annually, publishes chapbooks, and makes art prints.
