ON A WING AND A PRAYER

ON A WING AND A PRAYER
My play, ON A WING AND A PRAYER, is a work-in-progress. It is a play about a lesser known female, an African American/native American Indian woman who was the first person of color, male or female, to obtain a license to fly a plane in America. Suffice it to say that Bessie Coleman could not obtain a license in America; she went through unbelievable obstacles and succeeded in getting her license in France. ON A WING AND A PRAYER addresses the need for women of color to realize that even though they quite often come from humble beginnings and are, indeed, women of color, they can succeed despite the odds that are set up against them.
