Mazarte Dance Company’s mission is to promote and preserve Mexican culture & folk dance as it introduces the community members to a unique work of Mexican dance, history and art. Through high quality educational programming, performances, and public events, we bring history to life, keep traditions alive and make the arts accessible to all members of the communities that we work in. Through the full range of our activities we show the rich diversity of Mexican culture in ways that reflect the diversity of New York City. We empowers Mexican artists and artisans based in New York by providing them with a forum to showcase their talents and craft. Our holistic and respectful approach to dance and arts is inclusive of people from different backgrounds and across generations. Through our free or low-cost educational programs and performances we promote the socioeconomic development and empowerment of the communities that we work with, ensure that important arts and traditions are preserved for existing and future generations, and make essential contributions to the cultural life of the Borough and the City. Our children & youth program is a culturally enriching dance-based extracurricular activity that includes fitness, teamwork, confidence-building, community engagement and as well as arts education; it is open to anyone interested in dance.
