Davalois Fearon, Dance Magazine’s one of 7 Up-and -coming Black Artists to Have on Your Radar, is a Bessie award-winning, critically-acclaimed dancer, teacher, and choreographer born on the island of Jamaica and raised in The Bronx, New York. She is the founder and Artistic Director of Davalois Fearon Dance, a company with a mission that pushes both artistic and social boundaries. Her choreography has been presented nationally and internationally including on Broadway at the New Victory Theater, the prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the world-renowned Joyce Theater. She has received awards from Bronx Council on the Arts and Pentacle and commissions to create new work by Harlem Stage and The Bronx Museum among others. She earned an MFA from University Wisconsin Milwaukee and received a BFA from Purchase College the same year she joined the Stephen Petronio Company; whom she performed around the world with from 2005-2017. www.davaloisfearon.com
