Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present Jazz at Lincoln Center SING AND SWING on Sunday, February 25th at 4PM. A celebration of the Great American Songbook featuring the spectacular trumpet and vocal talents, Bria Skonberg and Benny Benack III, with opening act, the legendary salsa and jazz trombonist, Jimmy Bosch with his band Salsa Masters.

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is on the campus of Lehman College/CUNY at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West, Bronx, NY 10468. Tickets for Jazz at Lincoln Center on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 4:00 pm (VIP: $55, $45, $35 (No Balcony) can be purchased by calling the Lehman Center box office at 718-960-8833; Para Español: 718-960-8835 (Monday through Friday, 10 am–5 pm, and beginning 4 hours prior to showtime on weekends), or through online access at www.lehmancenter.org/events/jazz-at-lehman. The Lehman Center is accessible by #4 or D train to Bedford Park Blvd. and is off the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Major Deegan Expressway.

Sing and Swing celebrates the Great American Songbook in all of its playful and sophisticated glory, brought to life by two of this generation’s brightest stars. Each armed with prodigious trumpet talent and vocal charm, Bria Skonberg and Benny Benack III will relive and re-imagine some of the classic partners in jazz and popular song, including Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, and Peggy Lee. Accompanied by an incredible band featuring Jocelyn Gould (guitar), Mathis Picard (piano), Mark Lewandowski (bass), and Charles Goold (drums). This celebration promises an unforgettable journey through the rich tapestry of jazz music.

Bria Skonberg, known as “one of the most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation” by the Wall Street Journal, Skonberg has performed with renowned musicians from Jon Batiste, Wycliffe Gordon, U2, and Sun Ra Arkestra. A 3x Juno Award Nominee, Bria's debut LP on Sony Masterworks won for Best Jazz Vocal Album and made the Top 5 on Billboard jazz charts. Bria has recorded on over 25 albums and recently released her sixth studio solo album “Nothing Never Happens”. The daughter of teachers, Skonberg is deeply committed to education. She is the co-founder and director of the New York Hot Jazz Camp, in addition to presenting hundreds of concerts and clinics for students of all ages, both independently and on behalf of Jazz at Lincoln Center, Jazz House Kids, and the Louis Armstrong House Museum.

Benny Benack III, part of a family of Pittsburgh jazz notables, follows in the footsteps of his grandfather, trumpeter and bandleader, Benny Benack, Sr. (1921-86), and his father Benny Benack, Jr., a saxophonist and clarinetist who gave young Benny his first professional experience. He has performed internationally as an Emcee/Host for Postmodern Jukebox, and appeared as a trumpet soloist for Josh Groban, Diplo, Marilyn Maye, Melissa Errico and Ann Hampton Callaway. As an Emmy-nominee trumpeter and vocalist, Benack was recognized in the 2022 DownBeat Critics Poll as a Rising Star Male Vocalist and a top Rising Star Trumpeter.

Jimmy Bosch is a world class salsa and jazz artist Trombonist, Director, and Vocalist, Performing in over 100 countries, and has been revolutionary in the New York style Afro Caribbean music known as
“Salsa Dura” or Hard Salsa. Salsa Masters is performed by Bosch and his incredible band, Adan Perez, Piano, Background Vocals. Alex Apolo Ayala, Bass. Brian Pozo, Bongos, Bells , Background Vocals. Ricky Rosa, Timbales,Background Vocals. Jesus Muñoz, Congas. Daniel Arboleda, Tenor Sax.
Jorge Castro, Baritone Sax. Guiro Gonzalez, Trumpet. Dan Lehner, Trombone. Bosch has worked with Eddie Palmieri, Ruben Blades, Ray Barretto, Mambo Legends, and Pete El Conde Rodrigez.

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. is supported, in part, by public funds through the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the New York City Council and the Bronx Delegation.
