Beginning January 27th until March 10th, “Divine Dreams-a Fluid Perspective”, featuring the art work of Rebecca Kristol, opens at the Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture, 4450 Fieldston Road, Bronx, N.Y. The opening reception and artist talk takes place on February 5th, 4 PM – 6 PM.
Fluid Art is a process whereby acrylic paint is modified so that it can be poured onto a canvas. Through intricate fine-tuning of intensity of color, movement, and patterns, Rebecca creates unique pieces. Her goal is to disrupt the traditional idea that art has to be something identifiable, i.e., a portrait, a still life, or a landscape, but rather to encourage viewers to appreciate the images for what they are, and to invoke emotional responses.
