Naturally Occurring Cultural Districts NY (NOCD-NY) invites you to join us in Reimagining NYC! Share your vision for transformative and creative change at our Citywide Forum at THE POINT, 940 Garrison Ave, Hunts Point, Bronx.
How can we support and extend the extraordinary role played by cultural hubs, networks and public spaces to further belonging, fight displacement, and reknit communities? What are effective ways to embed arts and culture in organizing to advance racial justice, climate justice, and participatory democracy? How can we enact visions of creative leadership, solidarity economies, and just and equitable support systems?
Reimagining NYC draws on the wisdom, stories, and recommendations shared over two years of neighborhood and online gatherings. We and partners across the city asked our communities to imagine truly liberatory change and identify what it would take to get there.
The Citywide Forum is an opportunity to meet one another, exchange your work, and advance the conversation. It will include exhibits, a plenary addressing key themes and recommendations, performances, break out sessions, and a party!
