This event guarantees an inspiring gathering of 30 Latinx theater visionaries collaborating in an immersive theatrical marathon, where they will craft six entirely new short plays.
The creative impetus for this year's occasion is ignited by the iconic music of Bronx hip-hop pioneers: Sha-Rock, Big Pun, Remy Ma, Melle Mel, Cardi B, and KRS-One. It pays sincere homage to The Bronx, delving deep into the musical legacies of these six trailblazers whose influence resonates globally within the hip-hop community.
The 30 artists will form six teams, each consisting of a playwright, a director, and three actors. Aligned with a hip-hop artist and one of their most iconic tracks, each team embarks on a whirlwind 48-hour journey.
Within this intensive timeframe, they conceive, rehearse, and present six new 10-minute plays, performed live and off-script at our Bronx venue, ensuring an exclusive and unforgettable evening.
