Because of my family roots and affinity for the Spanish language, I enjoy sharing my deep love for the culture and music of the Hispanic World, and have presented in symposiums, thematic recitals, lectures, master classes and artist residencies at:  The Juilliard School; The Graduate Center in NYC; Música de Cámara in NYC;  University of California at Riverside; Hollins University in Roanoke; SUNY Albany; El Conservatorio Nacional de Santo DomingoUniversity of Nassau (Bahamas); Universidad de La Rioja (Spain); and for “Project Canción Española”  and the “International Song and Music Center” (ISMC) both at the summer sessions of La Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid.

In the Bronx, I have performed with The Bronx Opera in "The Barber of Seville", "The Bizarre Deception", "Dido and Aeneas"; awarded a BRIO (Bronx Recognizes its Own) in 2008, and have performed numerous concerts of music representing the cultural diversity of the Bronx at: The Bronx Library Center, JASA Senior Center, Lehman College, Riverdale Senior Services and numerous others throughout the Bronx.

My year as  Fulbright Scholar to Spain  enriched my artistry as specialist in music from the Hispanic world.  I continue to  investigate and perform 20th century composers from Spain and Latin America at festivals and foundations such as the Fundación Juan March, Fundación Botín, Festival de Segovia, Semana de Música Religiosa (Avilés); Museo Nacional del Prado, Museo del Romanticismo, and Festival Internacional Navas del Marqués.

I have a love and specialty in the music of classical composers from Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Haiti, and have presented recitals featuring these songs and their poetry throughout the United States and Europe.

Other performances  and festivals I have participated in include The Casals Festival of Puerto RicoFestival Iberoamericano de las Artes in Puerto RicoMúsica de Cámara of New York, North/South Consonance Joy in Singing, Elysium Between Two Continents, and the Nassau Music Festival.  Recital venues in Italy, Malta, Spain and Germany include The St. Anton Palace in Valletta (Malta), the Palacio Nacional de Ájuda in Lisbon, Teatro 1793 at Villa Adlrovandi Mazzacorati in Italy, and the ElbPhilharmonie in Hamburg.

My two commercial solo discs are: “The songs of Julio Gómez" with VERSO label, as well as "España alla Rossini" released by  iTinerant Classics .  I am also featured in the opera recording “Riders to the Sea” by American composer Marga Richter on Leonarda Label.

Another important interest is the promotion of works by women composers.  Through the initiative  "Women in Music/Mujeres en Música", co-founded by Spanish pianist Isabel Pérez Dobarro and myself , we aim to promote via concerts and round tables, awareness of the existent gender gap in the programming and promotion of women composers in the classical music field.  Concerts so far have been presented at the Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center (in collaboration with the Very Young Composers Program of the NY Philharmonic), The International Institute in Madrid and the London Music N1ghts concert series at the iconic Café Comercial in Madrid.

Since 2008 I have been music advisor and among the curators of the music series at the Hispanic Society Museum & Library in New York City.
