
Megan Curet is a Bronx-born Afro-Boricua dancer, choreographer, birth-doula, and educator, currently completing a PhD in dance at the University of Plymouth where her research integrates Puerto Rican bomba with contemporary dance. Curet holds a BA in Theater and Dance Performance from CUNY Baccalaureate and a Masters in Dance Studies from Roehampton University. She has taught at various universities, including Roehampton, Franklin & Marshall, the University of Maryland, and CUNY's Lehman and BMCC. Former founder of Curet Performance Project Dance Company, TiLLT Magazine and coordinator for the Artist of Color Council at Movement Research. Her choreography has toured globally across North America, Europe, South America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. She is the creator of the podcast DiasPORUS, has received support from the Jerome Foundation, Community Engagement, and NYC Cultural Affairs. Curet’s work has been commissioned by Malashock Dance, San Diego Dance Theater, Disco Riot, BAAD, and Pepatian.
