A Tokyo native, Meg Okura is a Grammy-nominated violinist and acclaimed jazz composer residing in The Bronx. She moved to the U.S. and made her solo debut at the Kennedy Center at 19. Ms. Okura recently won the 2023 ISJAC Fundamental Freedom Commission and the 2023 Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble Prize. She founded the Pan Asian Chamber Jazz Ensemble and performed at venues such as Birdland Jazz Club, Jazz At Lincoln Center, and Blue Note New York.
