The Bead Project at UrbanGlass - Scholarship Program

The Bead Project is a scholarship program designed for creatively inclined women (including ciswomen, transwomen, and femme-identified non-binary folks). Over the course of ten classes at the UrbanGlass studios, students learn the art of glass beadmaking, simple jewelry fabrication techniques, and the entrepreneurial skills to develop a business plan. The Bead Project offers students a transformative experience, new tools for self-expression, and the skills to turn glass beadmaking into a supplemental form of income, while becoming a part of a dynamic creative community.

The program runs twice a year, and the deadline for our upcoming spring semester is February 1st.

Who can apply?
The Bead Project was created specifically for low-income women, age 18 and over, living in the New York Metropolitan Area. No previous art or glass experience required. Applicants should not be currently enrolled in an academic program.
