A day to celebrate the contributions of women who have carved a niche for themselves in the urban-gone-global culture. Motivated by the completion of a documentary about women who breakdance entitled "All The Ladies Say", (www.alltheladiessay.com) the director Ana "Rokafella" Garcia has begun to mark the 10 year anniversary of its launch at the Bronx Museum with Bgirl related activities including hosting an event with a vibrant display of creativity by young and veteran female Hip-hop practitioners. This event will be comprised of female MC/Rappers performing their original music, a female DJ playing music for an exhibition battle between two B girl contenders. A slideshow of photos will be projected as well as scenes from the documentary. Graf writers will have a few canvases on display and for sale while creating live pieces for all to observe and enjoy. Other Hip-hop merchandise will also be for sale.
