A “CommuniTea” is a multi-disciplinary art happening revolving around the drinking and sharing of tea in a local community within a mobile teahouse setting. Andrew Freedman Home Artist-in-Residence Michele Brody concentrates on bringing together a wide range of artists such as musicians, poets, and dancers with intergenerational community members to share a tea and their stories. Set on the grounds and within the historic wood-paneled library of the Andrew Freedman Home, "CommuniTea" focuses on expanding upon the Community Art Center’s mission of creating a destination for artistic and cultural exchange and a hub of learning and creativity that engages the community by bringing exciting, interactive programs to the people of the Bronx.
