About the Artist

Germaul Barnes is a choreographer, director, master educator, scholar, and designer with a multifaceted career spanning over thirty years in contemporary dance. Global in vision and influence, his work regularly reflects his in-depth knowledge of anthropology, the culture of African Diaspora, blackness, musicality, and social justice.

NIOKA WORKMAN is one of the most creative and innovative cellists performing today. Her musical experiences and formidable history are the foundation of her identifiable sound and style. Accomplished on both acoustic and electric cello, Nioka's experiences have inspired global collaborations from diverse disciplines. Born into a family of esteemed musicians - her uncle bassist Arthur Harper and her celebrated father, bassist Reggie Workman, Nioka continues to live up to her musical DNA.

Marvin Dolly -composer, is very passionately driven to create good music, Marvin Dolly combines his love for jazz with broad influences from Calypso and Brazilian music to create his signature style. Originally from the beautiful Island of Trinidad and Tobago, Marvin started playing the guitar at a very young age studying the classical guitar and taking part in various music festivals in the Caribbean. Gaining popularity, Marvin began touring extensively throughout the Caribbean, United States, Canada, and Europe.

Marlies Yearby is a scholar, choreographer, director . She is a Tony award nominee for her choreography in the musical RENT. Ms. Yearby is a Drama League- Award winner.
