D3’s Sensory Friendly Art Program

, ,

D3 will enroll at least 100 children between the ages of 4 through 18 in weekly art workshops led by experienced educator and artist Nellie Escalante, and supported by a paid assistant teacher and unpaid program volunteers. The program will be structured as follows. Over the course of two (2) ten week cycles – a winter session from January 7th through March 11th, 2017 and a late fall session from October 7th through December 16th, 2017, three age-matched groups per session comprised of approximately 30-40 children each will participate in weekly art workshops designed to stimulate curiosity, engage creativity, practice social skills by working alongside friends, and develop fine motor skills together with encouraging adults and typically developing peer buddies.
