Works in Motion

In an effort to reach new audiences, BCA created the "Works-in-Motion" concept which turns the Trolley into a performance venue for the night.

In 2006, we featured a performance art movement night called, "Attack of the Killer Stripeys", featuring two professional modern dancers from Cilla Vee Movement Project wrapped in striped stretch tubes and moving about the Trolley while being serenaded by a solo saxophone player all while in motion; two evenings of Shakespeare and Sonnets featuring three professional actors from Mud/Bone.

Riders of the October 2006 trolley found themselves hijacked for an evening of fun as the Pirates of the Cultural Corridor were on board for some high-seas trolley high jinks, a riddle-solving contest, a treasure hunt and a performance that continued at Pregones Theater.

2007 "Works-in-Motion" performances included scenes from award-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks' 365 opus, and TRANSIT, a multiple-channel video installation with visual artist Eleanor Dubinsky.

(from 10/04/06 trolley night):
Presented by La Reina's Barriolesque Pirates of the Cultural Corridor is another example of the "Works-in-Motion" performance on board the trolley in which the passengers get to interact with the performing actors.
