THE BRONX TROLLEY
FIRST WEDNESDAY ARTS & CULTURE TOUR

returns on December 3, 2014
 

December 3rd trolley night venues and activities include:

        • Exhibitions at Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos, Bronx Museum of the Arts, Andrew Freedman Home, Bronx Documentary Center, and BronxArtSpace;

  • Also at the Gallery, the Bronx Writers Center Bronx Memoir Project book release;
  • At the Hostos Repertory Theater, a work-in-progress dance performance;
  • A book signing and reading at and the Bronx Museum of the Arts.

From Wick to Mott Haven: The Magic Realism of Ian Charles Scott

Curated by Sarah Sandman, From Wick To Mott Haven is Scott’s first solo exhibition in the Bronx. It features 26 paintings of which magical elements are a natural part of an otherwise mundane environment, bringing to life an extended cast of characters that stretch from Ian Charles Scott’s hometown of Wick in remote Northern Scotland to his Hostos Community College studio. 5/150 is a collective exhibition showcasing the artwork of five of Scott’s former students Lee Jacob Hilado, Vanessa Isabella, Ptah Miller Osaretin Ugiagbe, and Dennesa Usher — all of whom are now all professional artists. (Project Room)

Stuart Zaro of Zaro’s Bakery was the recipient of BCA’s first Culture, Commerce & Community Award for his creative contribution to the South Bronx industrial district.
