June 5th BRIO Award Presentation |
|
Join us on June 5th, when twenty-five Bronx artists receive BCA’s prestigious Bronx Recognizes Its Own (BRIO) Award for artistic excellence. An award reception and networking event will be held at 6:00pm at Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos.
The evening marks BRIO's 24th anniversary. BRIO winners, past and present, are invited to socialize and network with each other while welcoming the 2013 winners into the fold.
The award presentation will coincide with that evening’s Bronx Culture Trolley activities beginning at 5:00pm. So come early, enjoy the opening reception of the gallery’s new exhibition, and then hop on the trolley after the presentation to visit some of the cultural hot spots along the South Bronx Cultural Corridor.

BCA presents Community Arts Tuesdays, a networking opportunity at our Westchester Square location at 2700 East Tremont Avenue (corner of St. Raymond Avenue).
Gather with our Westchester Square neighbors and friends, meet the BCA staff, rub elbows with members of the newly formed Westchester Square BID. Admission is free and all are welcome. Details on June 25th's Community Arts Tuesday will be posted shortly. |

Call to Artists is open to emerging and seasoned professional artists with site-specific and/or public art experience. Only artists who reside in the Bronx can apply. Artists who apply should have experience working with community representatives, landscape architects, businesses and government entities but it is not mandatory. Submission Deadline: May 7, 2013.

On Thursday, May 16, join City Limits as it re-launches the Bronx Bureau (formerly the Bronx News Network) with a special event at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. The event will feature a networking reception of community stakeholders—elected officials, businesses, non-profits, and citizens—and a special conversation on rising poverty and homelessness featuring leading civic voices.
