Alex “FDEZ” Fernández is an autodidactic, multidisciplinary artist who was born in New York, but partly raised in the Dominican Republic and is currently living in the Bronx. He attained a B.F.A. in Electronic Design and an M.A. in Art Education from City College of New York, which led to his research into art history, social justice, criticism, and the exploration of various mediums and techniques. He is currently a Space to Connect Resident for ChaShaMa Bronx. He has had multiple solo shows in New York and has participated in various group shows, biennials and triennials around the world including Chile, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Switzerland, Dominican Republic, New York, Japan and Taiwan.
