BCA’S BXINDIE LUNCHTIME CONCERT SERIES AT THE HUTCH METRO CAFE concluded on August 12th with a concert of Latin jazz with Willie Rodriguez, Andy Gonzalez and friends pictured above.

Above: August 5th featured jazz favorites and originals by the Robert Silverman Trio.

Below: The Jacqueline Flowers Quartet kicked off the series on July 29th with a program of pop, contemporary and gospel tunes.

BCA’s bronxArtworks Artisans trunk show and sale was a popular addition to the concert series at Hutch Metro and was warmly received by Hutch Metro employees.(Pictured: Elizabeth Ortiz (r.) and customer below)


8 Y MÁS (above) performed a free concert of Latin music at 52 People for Progress Park’s Teatro Miranda on August 4th. The night was hot, the music sizzled, and the audience enjoyed the free outdoor performance a presentation of BCA’s  BxIndie Summer Concert Series.


The BRONX RIVER ALLIANCE and the BRONX RIVER ART CENTER (BRAC) wins Award for Design Excellence from the New York City Design Commission [rendering above]. Visit BRAC’s freshly designed website for details!

The Bronx Culture Trolley will not run in the Month of September.

The Trolley will return on Wednesday, October 6, 2010.

Las Casitas Revisited is an updated remounting of the legendary Casitas exhibition curated 20 years ago by Betty-Sue Hertz and William Aguado of the Bronx Council on the Arts. It opened at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., traveled to Chicago and closed at the Bronx Museum of the Arts in 1991. more...
