The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA), Hutchinson Metro Center and Hudson Valley Bank present two free, Thursday lunchtime holiday concerts at the Hutch Metro Café: On December 6th, a concert by soprano Melissa Primavera; and on December 13th, the Robert Silverman Jazz and Blues Trio performs. Each concert includes two performances, at 12:15 and 1:15pm.

The Hutch Metro Center is located at 1200 Waters Place (between Eastchester Road and Westchester Avenue). This series is sponsored by the Bronx Council on the Arts and the Hutchinson Metro Center and is open to the public. Admission is free and all are welcome.

December 6th features a concert by soprano Melissa Primavera.

Noted for her "glowing" and "sumptuous" voice, Soprano Melissa Primavera has become a favorite with audiences in the greater New York City area. Melissa's operatic repertoire includes "Magda" in La Rondine, "Frasquita" in Carmen, "Nannetta" in Falstaff, "Monica" in The Medium and "Constance" in Dialogues of the Carmelites. She has delighted audiences with her comedic portrayals of "Susanna" in The Marriage of Figaro, "Despina" in Cosi fan tutte and “Adele” in Die Fledermaus. In 2009 Melissa was awarded the Bronx Council on the Arts BRIO Award and made her European and Italian concert debut as a member of the Incontro Accademico Internazionale di Musica e Teatro Bolzano. On December 13th the Robert Silverman Jazz and Blues Quartet performs.

Robert Silverman is a pianist, trumpeter, and composer who has been a fixture in the New York Jazz scene since 1985. After a stint in Europe and assorted gigs with Albert King, Jimmy Heath, George Russell, Cecil McBee and the Ron Levy Bluesman band, Robert went on to form his own ensemble featuring original compositions, the blues and standards. Mr. Silverman has been featured in New York on NBC TV, WKCR, WBAI and WNYC Radio's Around New York. He is the recipient of two "Meet the Composer Grants".
